Jostling for position
In cages of like
In darkened crowds
Of filth and shroud
In blackness screams
Wedged inbetween.

The wired mesh
The bodies crushed
The breaking bones
Feeding on waste
On neighbours weak

All the while
In feared pain
Dropping eggs
of pure gain
For masters those
Enslaving life.

What is your normal?
When all you have known
Is a battery cage
Fed like a drone
Faecal rain
Darkens all.

Darkens you
That white-feathered dress
While your brother
Sometime ago
Just days old
Mulched in bloody throw.

A life for no being
In this fucked place
Hope you break free
Sun light your face
Free to roam
A world not shown.
